The Challenge
From the beginning, Pablo Freisz, Director of Emeretail, was aware that they should offer a distinguished service to their potential clients, and his ample experience in the market predicted a good diagnosis of the situation. “One of the major milestones we had to achieve was to be cross-platform because we knew we would have clients with solutions in different platforms.”
“We started with all the development in Java but from experience we knew that we had to achieve a very rich presentation layer for the solution,” recollects Pablo Freisz, who acknowledged that after a long research process, they came to test Adobe Flex.
The Solution
After researching for some time the most appropriate technology for what Emeretail wanted to offer its clients, he came to Adobe Flex. “We investigated Flex and we came to see that it was quite a mature technology, we focused all of our efforts on that presentation layer. We did an initial demo and it was widely accepted by clients. This was the turning point in our decision for Adobe,” stated the director of Emeretail
During this search process, Emeretail contacted Cubika – the Adobe certified partner in Flex technology for the entire Latin American region – and thanks to its experience in technological development and capacity for fast delivery, Cubika could assist Emeretail from the beginning in the adoption of Adobe technology, which proved to be a good way of considerably saving time throughout the process.
Results
The incorporation of Adobe technology, together with Cubika's technical experience and capacity for development, have made it possible to obtain complete solutions oriented to each client. In the case of Emeretail, its central business point has not been limited to the supermarket area; but rather it extends to the entire supply chain. “We offer solutions for the entire management of the supply chain - we have a wide range of options according to the needs of our clients, thus being able to offer a comprehensive solution,” Freisz stated.
Moreover, the clients who received the solutions from Emeretail did not only show great approval of it, they were also satisfied with the measures taken. “The clients thought that the change was extremely positive because, previously to this implementation, they had to deal with processes which involved several administrative steps.

As to the investment, it was profitable as well since the initial cost required for the installation of the new technology is remarkably low when it is compared to the quantity of projects that they now have. “We have gained a considerable number of business deals thanks to this presentation layer, it does not bear resemblance at all to the small total amount that was invested in the use of this technology”.
